Gelabert (Albrook) airport in about one hour, with several flights a day. In under an hour you go from the capital to the islands, landing right on Isla Colón — the easiest choice if you value time.
Option 2 — Drive or bus, then water taxi
Many travelers take a road route across Panama to the town of Almirante on the mainland coast, then hop on a water taxi for the short ride across to Bocas Town. It’s a longer journey but a scenic, budget-friendly one. Ferries also operate for those bringing a vehicle.
Option 3 — From Costa Rica
Because Bocas sits near the border, some visitors arrive overland from Costa Rica (via Sixaola/Guabito) and then continue by water taxi. It’s a popular route for regional travelers.
Getting around once you arrive
